LinkMaps
A LinkMap draws your site as something you can interrogate instead of a spreadsheet you have to read. Pages become nodes, internal links become edges, and the structural problems that take three exports and a pivot table to find show up as shapes you can point at.
Start with Visualizing Website Structure for what a LinkMap is, then Interacting with Your LinkMap for how to drive one. From there the section covers reading the visualization, exporting it, and the workflows that open up once you can see the structure rather than infer it.
Four Workflows to Try First
Each workflow is a question you can answer by looking at the map. Content Gap Analysis asks which parts of the site you never finished writing. Internal Link Optimization asks which pages are stranded at the edge of the map.
Site Architecture Reorganization asks whether the shape matches how the site is meant to be read, and SEO Performance Correlation colors the same map by Search Console and Analytics numbers so you can see where the traffic actually sits.
What the Map Cannot Tell You
A LinkMap is built from your own crawl, so it knows your pages and the links between them and nothing else. It does not know who links to you from outside, and it does not know what a competitor's structure looks like.
That work lives elsewhere in the product. Competitor research measures the pages ranking for one keyword, and SEO Resource Allocation sorts what that research finds into what every ranking page already has, what they differ on, and what buys you nothing.
The comparison pages live here too, and they name what the other tool does better. Ahrefs has a backlink index we cannot match. Screaming Frog crawls deeper on hardware you already own. What we do is put the map, the SERP correlations, and an MCP server in front of your whole team for $10 a month.
